Creating a Watermark in Excel 2003 & 2007
Watermarks are dim images in the background of a spreadsheet. 'Back in the day' we could identify quality paper from the watermark imprint. 'Nowadays', a watermark can be any word or image you like. Ex: Confidential, Draft, company logo, etc. Here's how to make one in Excel...
Excel 2007
1. click Insert, and then in the Text section, click Header & Footer.
2. With your pointer in the center section of the header,
a. Type a Word of your choice and format the text to a light gray
or
b. click Picture in the Header & Footer Elements section of the Design tab,
- browse your hard disk drive to find the picture you want,
- click OK.
3. To make the picture dim (as a watermark should be) click Format Picture.
a. Resize the picture if it's too big.
b. click the Picture tab and under Image Control, Color: choose "Washout"
4. Click OK
Excel 2003
1. In file, click View, and then click Header & Footer.
2. Click "Custom Header" and n the center section of the header,
a. Type a Word of your choice and format the text to a light gray
or
b. click the Picture button in the Header & Footer toolbar
- browse your hard disk drive to find the picture
- click OK.
3. To make the picture dim (as a watermark should be) click the Format Picture button (beside the Insert Picture button).
a. Resize the picture if it's too big.
b. click the Picture tab and under Image Control, Color: choose "Washout"
4. Click OK
